During a colonoscopy, a thin tube with a camera (called endoscope) is passed into your rectum thought your colon, large intestine, and the distal part of the small intestine to check the inside of your intestines.
This procedure is to:
• investigate intestinal problems like abdominal pain or chronic diarrhea
• screen for colon cancer
• look for and removal of polyps
The procedure is quite common and not painful.
